Enjoying Gdansk

After many recommendations that we had to see Gdansk, we decided it would be our last trip in Poland before flying out of Warsaw next week.  We arrived at dinner time and checked into our hostel - clean and roomy (and three large pictures of Marilyn Monroe- who could ask for more?!).  Then we headed to the Old City for dinner.  We walked around a bit afterward and got some pictures.  (I think the ones in the full daylight will probably turn out better).  It was quite beautiful!  The kids have already picked out some amber items that they'd like to take home.  We'll probably get something tomorrow after looking around some more.

the odd shaped building is the Crane (design dates back to 1442).
Capacity: 4 tonnes, used to unload ships and help raise masts.

  2. Great to see you in Free City of Gdansk. Now you got to see only two places Mazury Lakes and Bialowieza both in the same place and quite near Gdansk ;)

Those are the most beautiful places in the world also on UNESCO list

  3. Oh, your Gdansk pictures are wonderful! We walked by the Neptune Fountain, up and down Dluga, countless times. So fun to be able to "see" our city for the first time again through your eyes!

  4. In your fourth picture from the bottom...the greenish building...at a certain time every day (I think it's 1:00pm) a girl appears in the window. Here is a link explaining it. It says she appears three times per day...who knew?! Hope you get to see her.
