Maritime Museum

It was rainy today, so it was a good day for museums. David, Delaney and I enjoyed the maritime museum (Adam was not feeling well and was relaxing at the hostel).  We got to explore all over the Soldek, an old cargo steamer. We saw the cabins, galley, engine room, pilot house, cargo holds, etc.  Then we went into the two old grainery buildings where the museum was housed.  It was much larger than I expected.  It was organized chronological order starting with dugout canoes, moving on to Viking ships, and eventually to Clipper ships and steamers.  They had a lot on the archeology of sunken ships as well.  Delaney was absolutely mesmerized by the numerous scale models and diorama scenes.  She spent all her time examining the miniature scenes in close detail.  We had to hustle through the last few exhibit rooms as closing time approached, but it was an afternoon well spent.
