Delaney and Adam's last day of school was Friday. We leave Lublin in a week and wanted to let them experience a bit more of the city (and help get everything packed and ready to go). I didn't expect to feel nostalgic about the last day like I do at home, but we both did a little bit. Delaney remarked that she wouldn't be riding the 'crazy bus' any more, or riding her scooter down the big hill after school to get home.
Delaney made rice crispie treats to share with her friends (thanks to Grandpa Doug sending the ingredients!). Her friends gave her a big card signed by the class, and a beautiful doll dressed in a traditional Polish dress. Delaney loves her!! I suggested that we name her Magda or Agnieszka (two common names in Poland), her brother suggested naming her Nalishniki (pancake). Her brother's suggestion won...she is now Nali for short : )
What a gorgeous doll. Your daughter is very pretty as well :)
ReplyDeleteWe love Nalesniki in my house as well. Nali is a strange but cute name for a doll.
I grew up with a doll from Poland named Agnieszka and another Ala. :)
