The drive to and from Delphi was absolutely beautiful! It was about 2 1\2 hrs from Athens, up into the mountains. We passed several sizeable towns and some small ones too. We stopped at one on the way back and got to take a few pictures. The town overlooked one of the largest olive groves in Greece, with over 1 million trees. From what I understood, it was a cooperative grove with many local owners.
There were lots of beautiful handmade items on sale in the shops (the town survived on tourism). One shop owner was particularly vigorous in trying to draw people into his shop...it kind of turned me off.
