We enjoyed a night out last week when one of the family's from Delaney's school invited our whole family for homemade pizza at their house. They invited another family over with a daughter Delaney's age and the kids played until they dropped. 5 of the 6 adults spoke English well, so we had an extensive conversation about a wide range of topics. We found out that Delaney's teacher will "loop" with the whole class through 1st, 2nd and 3rd grade. Kind of a different process, especially since she will teach them all of their subject materials. Seems to be a bit challenging.
It was so pleasant to socialize with other families. We are hoping the girls will get back together again soon since the other family lives quite close to us. Their daughter understands more English than Delaney's classmates (and they are hoping that by playing with Delaney, she will use it more). It'd be nice if she'd teach Delaney a little more Polish too!
